Empowering Conversations: A Glimpse into IWD 2024's Intimate AMA Sessions

Sponsored by Aon and Lloyd's of London

On a bright and hopeful Friday morning, the vibrant Lloyd's Lounge became the nexus for an extraordinary celebration of International Women's Day 2024. This event marked a ground-breaking collaboration between Women in Reinsurance (Singapore) and Lloyd's Asia Young Talent Development Group, united by a shared vision to inspire and empower.

A Unique Format for Unprecedented Engagement

Diverging from the conventional panel discussions, the event introduced an intimate 'Ask Me Anything' (AMA) format, offering attendees an unparalleled opportunity to engage in deep, meaningful conversations with industry luminaries. The format comprised two 40-minute sessions, allowing each participant to interact with two out of five distinguished speakers, fostering a rare environment of openness and insight.

The Voices That Inspired Us

The event featured a stellar panel of speakers who are not just thought leaders but trailblazers in the reinsurance and financial services sectors:

  • Geraldine Wee, Head of Financial Services and Professions Group at Aon Singapore Broking Centre

  • Yin Li, P&C Client Manager, Asia Pacific at Allianz Reinsurance

  • Margaret To, CEO, Singapore at Chaucer Group

  • Soo Jin Kim, Head of Retro, Asia at Aon

  • Susanna Quek, Country Head, Singapore at Tokio Marine Kiln

Their willingness to share, coupled with their vast reservoirs of knowledge, made each session a treasure trove of insights, advice, and inspirational stories.

Unanimous Acclaim

The feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive. Participants cherished the meaningful interactions with industry leaders, expressing a unanimous wish — the opportunity to engage in sessions with all five speakers. This sentiment underscored the event's success in striking a chord with its attendees, fostering a sense of community and shared ambition.
